Metro main menu of the Hoteza applications has become the most recognizable and one of the most important parts of the system, as it is the second page (after the welcome Page) the guests sees after checking in. Here you will find several tips on how to set it correctly based on our wide experience.
1. Set the tiles
Once you have filled out the categories, texts and pictures for inner parts of the content it is time to get to the Metro Layout Builder to arrange the tiles.
There are 3 types of tiles available now - a Small Square, a Big Square and a Rectangular one. Arrange the sections according to their importance so that the most informative ones (such as In-Room Dining, Promotions, Shopping, etc.) are placed on the biggest tiles and the so-called "Service" sections are placed on the smallest square tiles. Then Publish the content.
2. Select the best matching pictures
After publishing you may view the Main menu in the browser (How to get the link you may read TV App Content Preview article). Pay attention to the pictures tiles' colours and style - they should match one another.
3. Group the tiles
Make sure, your layout is arranged according to the main groups of tiles:
- TV entertainment (TV, Radio, YouTube, Netflix, WebBrouser, Airtime, Movies, Music);
- PMS functions (View Bill, Messages, Wake-Up Call);
- Orders and advertisement (In-Room Dining, Room Services, Offers, etc.);
- Information pages (Hotel Info, Restaurants & Bars, etc.)
4. Do not use long titles
Long titles always stack the tiles with text.
Please note, if you want to place a picture on the main menu without ant text, use the Title Tag. So that your team members will be able to view the title and change the metro layout, but it will be not visible for your guests.
